By: Carlisle Events With three days of family fun, the Carlisle Truck Nationals offer something for everyone. As part of the weekend, the annual Big Rig Show and Shine highlights the best in modern, custom and classic trucks. The show and shine features at least 15 different classes for both judged and non-judged competition. With all roads leading to Carlisle, truck drivers and enthusiasts alike can make the event their Central Pennsylvania truck stop as the grounds offer hot on site showers, food and a place to park for the weekend. In addition to the amazing display of rigs and heavy duty trucks, the showfield will feature over 2,000 trucks of all shapes and sizes. Included on grounds will be at least six different monster trucks. Of the six scheduled to appear, two will be on display (Lil’ Squirt and Silly Willy), two will compete (War Wizard and Virginia Giant), one is set up to set up give fans a ride and the sixth (Megasauras) With football season right around the corner and NASCAR season reaching crunch time, the Carlisle Truck Nationals believe it’s only fitting to feature what has become an American staple – tailgating. The first ever tailgate show will allow enthusiasts to park their ride and display their team/driver colors while preparing food and celebrating all things truck and sport. Prizes will be awarded for various tailgating categories, including best food, best team spirit, best truck and an overall best-of-tailgating award. The Truck Nationals provide a bevy of options, including on site seminars, industry guests, Kids at Carlisle, the Women’s Oasis, truck corral and the always popular swap meet. The Light Truck Accessory Alliance will also be on grounds showcasing the industries newest products, while the American Truck Historical Society will bring a spectacular array of rigs for display. Finally, as part of the weekend festivities, one person will go home with a brand new 2011 Honda FourTrax ATV courtesy of Velocity Cycles. Experiencing monster trucks at Carlisle is just one part of the Truck Nationals. With annual crowd in the tens of thousands, haul in to one of the largest truck events geared towards the entire family. This show is a must-attend with over 2,000 trucks of all shapes and sizes.
