July 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Clive Shepherd, a consultant specialising in learning technologies, chair of the eLearning Network and a renowned eLearning industry commentator and author, will be at the helm of the first Charity Learning Conference and Awards in London on 15 September.

Clive, who was a popular presenter at a recent Charity Learning Consortium members meeting, has agreed to steer the Consortium's first conference. Highlights of the day include a workshop with Nigel Paine, former Head of Training & Development at the BBC - he'll be encouraging delegates to think creatively about L&D on a shoestring.

Martin Baker, founder and CEO of The Charity Learning Consortium said: "Clive Shepherd is a popular 'Friend' of the Consortium, and as he is known to our members was the perfect choice for chairman. I know that he will bring humour to the role, and also help us to work towards some valuable learning outcomes on the day."

Clive Shepherd commented: "It is a pleasure to work with the Charity Learning Consortium again. Their meetings are always lively, relevant and a lot of fun."

Clive works with a broad range of public and private sector organisations, helping them to effectively harness the benefits of technology for workplace learning and communications. He established his interest in interactive media while Director of Training and Creative Services for American Express in Europe, Middle East and Africa. He went on to co-found Epic Group plc, a major producer of custom eLearning, where he won many industry awards.

He is widely acknowledged as one of the UK's foremost experts on eLearning and blended learning, with more than 100 published articles to his name and four books - including the recently published The New Learning Architect and the popular The Blended Learning Cookbook.
