Charlottesville Students' Video Gives Them Shot at $1 Million

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 27, 2011 - A 59-second video created by three Virginia college students has earned them a shot at winning $1 million through Gain's "Smell Like a Million Bucks" video contest. Their entry was one of close to 500 others and made it to the contest's 25 finalists, which were determined by each video's creativity and view count. This contest is also the largest in history. The requirements for entries were simply that they present someone declaring their love for Gain's laundry detergent in an inventive way, and including the statement "I use Gain and I smell like a million bucks!".

Parker Girard, Julian Taboada, and Forrest Pando, are all Charlottesville natives and students at James Madison University, Vanderbilt University, and Virginia Commonwealth University, respectively. Their video features an interaction between a secret agent and a youth on a Richmond park bench, all revolving around the alluring power of Gain's scent. The prize will go the video with the highest number of votes by August 2nd. Their video may be viewed and voted for here, and is titled "Parker G."

About the potential of winning, co-director Julian Taboada stated that, "I think it could be a great example to other young people. There seems to be a lot of pressure on our generation on college and getting credentials from institutions. I think people our age can do a lot by seizing the moment with what they have, and it would be great to be a example of that."
