PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 27, 2011 - The Bride’s Ball will raise money for three local charities,  the Holistic Cancer Care Centre at James Cook University Hospital, Age UK (Darlington), and St Teresa’s Hospice, in Darlington – three of several charities with which the firm feels a close connection.

Latimer Hinks Solicitor, Helen Thomas, one of the event’s organisers, said: "This is the ultimate in dressing up, for ladies – and if not gentlemen! Putting on a wedding dress is something all girls dream of and this is an opportunity for anyone, to go all out and have a fantastic night, raising money for three great charities. We all have family members, friends and work colleagues affected by cancer, ageing and ill health and we wanted to support them by doing something different which was going to raise much needed funds.”

The event will take place at Rockliffe Hall, Hurworth on September 30th and the ticket price of £50 will include a reception drink and three course meal. Entertainment will include a band, Sunshine Daze, DJ, auction and tombola.

The Holistic Cancer Care Centre was chosen because of the support a colleague Joanne Gilligan has received during her own battle with cancer.

Joanne commented: "The team at the Holistic Cancer Care Centre have been brilliant and I cannot praise them enough. It’s great that we are able to do something like this as some measure of thanks for all they have done for so many of us who have had access to their facilities.”

Event organiser, solicitor Natalie Palmer, a Trustee for Age UK ( Darlington) said: "The dress code is strictly bridal gowns for the ladies and groomswear for the men. It doesn’t matter if it is the wearer’s own, borrowed, bought from an auction website or charity shop.”

Prizes will also be awarded for dresses in four categories: old, new, borrowed and bijou.

The Bride’s Ball takes place at Rockliffe Hall, in Hurworth, on Friday, September 30, 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Tombola and auction prizes are required for the event and donors will be mentioned in event literature.

Booking and payment for tickets is required no later than August 30. For further details, or to make a donation, contact Helen or Natalie on 01325 341500 or e-mail nsp@latimerhinks.co.uk or hjt@latimerhinks.co.uk.
