Five Ways to Grow Your Business This Summer

Using the summer months to improve your business outcomes

July 26, 2011 - PRLog -- OTTAWA, ON—Many businesspeople in Canada look forward to summer as a time to recharge, spend time with their kids and take advantage of the precious good weather. For those whose cycles ease up, it also presents an ideal opportunity to assess, refine and plan for future growth—advancing business-building projects such as systems enhancement, team development and marketing.

“We’re taking advantage of the slower pace right now to evaluate our performance over the past few months,” says Dale Morris, President of Ottawa-based Ascribe Marketing Communications. “We’re looking at where we succeeded, where we faced challenges, and are applying lessons learned through the ActionCOACH process to fine-tune our operations. It’s perfect for us to get that perspective as we come up to our fiscal yearend of August 31.”

Ms. Morris outlines some of the main priorities Ascribe has set for itself over the course of July and August:

1.   FINE-TUNING OUR WORKFLOW to optimize efficiency—clarifying functional definitions, documenting systems and exploring new features of our software productivity tool.
2.   COLLECTING WORK SAMPLES—updating Ascribe’s website portfolio and clearing out old files.
3.   BUILDING CAPACITY—adding a new team member in preparation for the fall, acquiring new equipment to increase productivity and making sure IT systems are operating smoothly.
4.   GETTING INSPIRED—attending the August ActionCOACH conference in Miami.
5.   GETTING REFRESHED—owners taking time off to rejuvenate, and shortening office hours on Fridays for the whole team.
