First acts revealed for World Party, Swansea

July 26, 2011 - PRLog -- The first two acts for the annual World Party event have been unveiled.

Irish group The Porter Boys and American country band Ponchartrain will entertain the crowds at Museum Park on Saturday 27 August.

The Porter Boys boast superb harmony vocals along with guitar, banjo, fiddle and penny whistle. They will rattle off favourite traditional Irish songs including ‘Wild Rover’ to ‘Black Velvet Band’ plus many more.

Ponchartrain are guaranteed to get toes tapping and to bring out the smiles all round with dobro, fiddle/accordion, guitar and double-bass, topped by excellent vocals.

Off-stage a number of community groups from across the globe will be represented including the Bangladeshi Integration Group, Swansea Chinese Centre and the Arab and Muslim communities.  

They will share in sights into their heritage through interactive workshops, music and dance.  Traditional clothing, crafts and delicious food will also be on display.
