July 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Bonita Springs, Fla.- Adrian Tuck, CEO, Tendril officially opened the 2011 Municipal Smart Grid Summit (MSGS) at the Hyatt Regency in Bonita Springs, Fl on Tuesday, July 25th by delivering a keynote address that focused on engaging the consumer beyond the meter.

Tuck’s keynote “Engaging Consumers Beyond the Meter: Rules of the Road” focused on tailoring smart grid products to the needs of each individual consumer that allows them to integrate at their own pace. He explained that delivering actionable information and not just raw data to the consumer would result in earlier adoption by the consumer.

“It’s beneficial to have someone like Adrian set the stage for the rest of the Summit. With his knowledge and expertise, Adrian was able to capture the attention and challenge both our utility guests and vendor representatives to provide the consumer with something that is specifically tailored to their individual needs” said, Bill Booth, General Manager, MSGS.

Tuck and others continued the evening by socializing with all the electric utility guests and various vendors at the welcome reception sponsored by Best Buy that lasted well into the evening. The presentations continue today as both Dan Ton from the Department of Energy (DOE) and Mike Carlson from GE Digital Energy will present their perspectives with smart grid implementation and providing solution as a service.

The MSGS event has a unique format focused on business development through private boardroom meetings where 100+ Electric Utility Municipal Executives aggregate to discuss the latest technological advances and solutions in Smart Grid technologies, with participating Summit vendors including: GE Digital Energy, Landis+Gyr, Northstar Utilities Solutions, AT&T, West Monroe Partners, Trilliant, ABB and Grid2020 among others.
