Fast, inexpensive, wireless: ideal interface integration with AMB8425 and AMB8465

Whether for data collection, monitoring, remote control or sensor networks: the radio module AMB8425 and the wireless USB adapter AMB8465 from AMBER Wireless are ideally suited for each of these applications. Communication for the AMB8425 takes place bi-directionally in a half duplex mode, the integrated microprocessor takes on the necessary control. The AMB8425 is connected via the UART/SPI interface to a host system, which in turn does not have to perform any radio-specific tasks, since packet and check sum generation, addressing and channel access monitoring and the repetition of unacknowledged packets is completely handled by the integrated microprocessor. The transmission rate amounts to 115.2 kbaud.

Wireless USB adapter as optimal expansion/upgrade
The highlight from AMBER wireless is the AMB8465 wireless USB adapter. It is fully compatible with the AMB8425 and therefore serves as an optimal expansion of the radio module. With the stick, which combines all the features of the radio module, even easier connections with any PC are possible. It could not be easier: the USB controller supports USB 2.0 (full speed). The connection takes place either via the virtual COM port or directly via USB. Thus the AMB8465 wireless USB adapter is the ideal and directly applicable solution for any readout device or service terminal.

The AMB8425 radio module and the wireless USB adapter are widely configurable and applicable. Data transfer with fast channel and address switching is supported as well. That they support low-power applications and are designed for long battery operating times through the wake-on-radio function are additional benefits – as is the simple operation. And since users are able to integrate their own applications into the radio module's microcontroller, it can save space and money for a second microcontroller.
