GICO Music's Melodic by Gina Carey & New Beginnings by John Carey enters UKSoulCharts at #23 & #29

July 23, 2011 - PRLog -- GICO Music, head-quartered in Palms Spring, California, recently released two albums simultaneously - “New Beginnings” by Urban Soul guitarist John Carey and “Melodic” by his wife Soul singer/songwriter Gina Carey. The couple will also be featured performers on their label’s “Urban Soul Project” series of concert performances. The GICO artists have also landed on the Top 30 Chart of the UK Soul Charts at #23 for Gina and #29 for John. By July 14, 2011 Gina reached #24 and John moved up to #24. Both albums are also on the Top Seller’s List at www.CDBaby.com.

A Chicago native, John started out in the music industry as a Jazz guitarist playing as opening act for Natalie Cole, George Benson, Earth, Wind & Fire, Ledisi, Warren Hill, Queen Latifah, Brian Culbertson, Boney James, Mindi Abair, Norman Brown, Al Jarreau, Buddy Guy and Gerald Albright. His previous Jazz projects included “Take a Little Ride,” “Doves of Paradise” and “Xperiance Preferred.” Today his styles have cultivated into an Urban Soul sound that he completely owns in his fourth album release “New Beginnings.” John is also a very skilled vocalist, drummer, keyboardist and bass player.

Also a native of Chicago Gina Carey is an accomplished singer/songwriter who started in the industry as a Contemporary Gospel artist. Her first three albums, “In His Time,” “Changes” and “Tell Um” were Gospel projects. Gina, who you may hear scatting on some of her songs, marked her venture into the Soul genre with her fourth album “My Journey,” which is followed by her current project “Melodic.” In 2006 Gina won “Best Gospel Performer – Female” at the Las Vegas Black Music Awards and in 2008 her “True Love” music video aired on BET J on the “Morning Cup Show.”

GICO Music, formed in 1996 as a publishing company, seeks to uphold the highest standards of integrity and morality with the universal language of music in the genres of Jazz, Soul, Gospel and Inspirational. Its’ first album release was in 2008. GICO Music also plans to release a duet album by the multi-talent couple by 2013. John and Gina Carey, who wrote/produced their own albums, is featured artist on the others’ projects.
