"Sticks & Stones" – Legal Issues in Volleyball Officiating for Referees Convention

Dec. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Alan Goldberger, an attorney and author of "Sports Officiating: A Legal Guide," will be a featured speaker at the 2015 Professional Association of Volleyball Officials (PAVO) Officials' Convention later this month in Omaha, Nebraska.

Goldberger, a partner in the law firm of Brown Moskowitz & Kallen, P.C. and former three-sport official will present "Sticks & Stones – Legal Issues in Volleyball Officiating" to volleyball referees and line judges at the general session; and "How to Be a Legally Empowered Board Chair," a special presentation to the Association's Board Chair Assembly. PAVO has over 90 affiliated local associations and its mission is to establish officiating standards, train and certify volleyball officials.

A frequent speaker to groups of sports officials, coaches, athletic administrators, and attorneys nationwide, Goldberger provides commentary on officiating and legal issues in the national media.  He serves as counsel to officiating and sports organizations and insurance carriers in the sports industry.

Alan Goldberger is an attorney and former sports official.  He is the author of the book, Sports Officiating: A Legal Guide, now in its second edition.   In addition to his law practice, he officiated college and high school basketball for over 30 years, most recently working in the Northeast Conference. He also umpired college baseball for the Eastern College Athletic Conference; and worked as a high school football official throughout the State of New Jersey.
