PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 23, 2011 - Without enough retail outlets, Louise Silk, had built a large inventory of handmade quilts that she wanted to sell. Observing her daughter operate a successful business selling vintage clothing on Ebay, Louise wondered if Ebay might work to sell quilts. She approached her daughter and together they began by offering Louise’s antique quilt collection on Sarah’s Ebay site: http://myworld.ebay.com/silkvintagethrift/

“I have built the collection over forty years. There are quilts from the mid-nineteenth century through to the 1950s. I only bought the most special pieces that I could not reproduce myself. The quilts were sitting in a closet gathering dust. It is wonderful to get them to people who will appreciate and treasure them. We have shipped quilts as far away as Japan!”

With the success of selling antique quilts, the pair has added Louise’s new quilts to their Ebay inventory. “ These quilts are my newest product. They are made of t-shirt pieces leftover from Memory Quilt commissions. They have a soft cuddly nature that makes a great quilt. It’s a modern material adapted to the great tradition of handmade quilts.”
The new t-shirt remnant quilts are one-of-a-kind individually designed and pieced by Louise and hand quilted by Amish women. You can see the quilts currently available at the Ebay listing: http://shop.ebay.com/silkvintagethrift/m.html?_trksid=p43...
