This Sunday, 7/24/11, Tyrone will talk about how the game has changed for better and for worse, and the non-profit organization he started in 1995, on Boomer Nation! with Terri Benincasa, airing from 5-6pm EDT WGUL/WLSS 860/930AM in West Central, FL.
"In true Boomer style, Tyrone has taken his celebrity, coupled it with his own experience of making it big because he had a mentor who pushed him to live up to his full potential, and created an organization dedicated to doing for other kids what was done for him.” says Ms. Benincasa. "I jumped at the opportunity to have Tyrone on the show; not just because he’s a well known sports figure, but because he uses his name to help others. That’s very special."
Tyrone Keys was a defensive lineman for six years, playing for the Chicago Bears, the San Diego Chargers, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and was a member of the “Shuffling Crew” that recorded the Grammy nominated “Super Bowl Shuffle,” all proceeds from which went to charity. His non-profit organization, All Sports Community Service, was created to ensure students contribute to their communities through volunteerism, community service and mentoring: In return, these students are supported financially and emotionally towards their goal of obtaining a college education, with the assistance of committed adults.
