On the Radar: People Music presents Mexicans with Guns, adoptahighway & Trashy Trash DJs in Seattle

People Music presents Mexicans with Guns, adoptahighway, and Trashy Trash DJs @ Chop Suey, SEA on Saturday, September 10th

July 22, 2011 - PRLog -- People Music productions, a Northwest promotions company responsible for bringing wayward, genre-spanning artists (such as Eprom and Take, Starkey and Mux Mool, and Lorn and Mochipet) to the great Emerald City is back Saturday, September 10th, with another epic pairing of innovative electronic producers, and as always local producer/DJ talent. Their mission is clear: Transform Chop Suey, one of Seattle’s most prized and musically diverse live venues, into a rib-rattling shrine of signature musical expression.

Headlining the evening is Mexicans with Guns, a bass Luchador by way of San Antonio riding high from the May 2011 release of Ceremony LP (Innovative Leisure) - his second proper imprint on the Highland Park set following 2010's sold-out Me Gusto EP for which notably The FADER & LA Times spilled ink. MwG’s resume is stacked to the nines with a number of stylish remixes for Freddie Gibbs, Rainbow Arabia, CYNE, Faunts & Yppah, and also features powerhouse collaborations with Helado Negro, Chico Mann, Nocando, Zacky Force Funk & Sasha Perera of Jahcoozi. Party-goers and dance floor denizens should expect nothing short of a religious experience from the masked man’s live performance - MwG's honed his chops headlining LA’s Low End Theory, in addition to sharing a stage with Peanut Butter Wolf, Daedelus, Eliot Lipp, Mux Mool, Jogger, and many others.

Fresh off the release of his second EP entitled chances, circumstances, conditions, adoptahighway makes his Seattle debut to support MwG with a contagious body of work distilled by years of eager electronic exploration, formal music training, and a bachelor’s degree in classical performance. After a successful summer spent touring the Midwest, adoptahighway plans to use what’s left of 2011 to finish prepping Reshaped Escape, a split EP effort with Dolor (Wednesday Sound) due out later this Fall, and also a 7” EP2 for Omega Clash, his collaborative project with close friend and fellow producer Lorn (Brainfeeder / Ninja Tune).

Up next on the bill is Trashy Trash DJs - a renowned NW DJ collective from Seattle and Portland, whose sea of members include Same Dna, Al Nightlong, Introcut, Claude Balzac, MadMax Wallace, Colin Jones, Nate Detroit and Freaky Outty. Most of these guys are clocking in at around 10 years of DJing experience, opening for artists such as Modeselektor, Jacob London, DJ Craze, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Talib Kweli, Trevor Loveys, DJ Qbert, Jerry Abstract, Amon Tobin, Grandmaster Flash, Daedelus, James Pants, Boys Noize, Michna, Blue Scholars, Fleshtone, Copy, Truckasauras, Grand Wizard Theodore, and Grand Master DXT… just to name a few.

Plan on bringing your appetite and your curiosities: this verifiable Feast of Creativity is set to run from 9pm to 2am on Saturday, September 10th, at Chop Suey; 1325 East Madison Street, located in the Pike/Pine corridor of Capitol Hill neighborhood, just blocks away from Seattle Central Community College and Broadway Avenue. Reserved tickets are on sale now at all Sonic Boom Records, the Chop Suey box office, or online at Ticketweb for only $8, and $12 the day of the show.
