Magic 96.5 Will Host Diaper Drive to Benefit Christian Diaper Bank

July 21, 2011 - PRLog -- The New Magic Morning Show with Rob and Jeannine will host a Diaper Drive at the Bruno’s Supermarket location on Highway 31 and 150 in Hoover, AL on July 27th, 2011 from 11:30am to 1:30pm.  The drive will focus on collecting diapers (size 4 and 5 most urgent need), wipes, and monetary donations will also be accepted.  Bruno’s Supermarkets will offer 20% off of diapers during the event, and has already donated cases of diapers to the organization.

This month, The New Magic Morning Show with Rob and Jeannine started a segment entitled, “How Can Rob and Jeannine Help?” and local charitable organizations were encouraged to utilize the station’s morning show to “help” however they deemed necessary.  Donna Langston, Director of the Christian Diaper Bank, heard about the effort on Magic 96.5 and asked Rob and Jeannine to hold a diaper drive.

Rob and Jeannine immediately contacted Langston and started planning the event.    

The Christian Diaper Bank is a “grass roots” organization started by Donna Langston and her family in 2009.  It collects and distributes diapers to other non-profit organizations and shelters in the Birmingham and Tuscaloosa area.   Recently, the organization supplied over 9000 diapers to tornado affected areas in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa.  

“Our church, Asbury United Methodist, had asked its members to step up and help the community.  Our children had grown up, and my husband and I had extra time. We decided to start the Christian Diaper Bank to help those who cannot help themselves; the children,” said Donna Langston Director of the Christian Diaper Bank.
