Dreyfus Named Title Sponsor for Annual Golf & Tennis Classic to Benefit Blythedale

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 21, 2011 - VALHALLA, NY  – Blythedale Children’s Hospital has announced it will hold its Annual Golf & Tennis Classic on Monday, September 12, 2011, at the Sunningdale Country Club in Scarsdale, NY.  The Dreyfus Corporation, a long-time supporter of the outing, is taking the lead as the event’s title sponsor.  

“We are thrilled that Dreyfus is partnering with Blythedale in a major role at this year’s event,” said Hospital President and CEO Larry Levine.  “Dreyfus has been wonderfully supportive of the Annual Golf & Tennis Classic in the past, and we greatly appreciate their ongoing commitment to our children.”

The Dreyfus Golf & Tennis Classic, which gets underway at 10:30 a.m., will feature a full day of golf or afternoon tennis, a putting contest, raffle, auction and dinner after play.  In attendance will be Stanley Cup Champion Mike Richter as the event’s Honorary Chair.  Super Bowl Champion and former New York Jet Dave Herman will also be on hand to support Blythedale.

Proceeds from The Dreyfus Golf & Tennis Classic will help fund Blythedale’s new state-of-the-art inpatient hospital, opening in December 2011.  The new $65 million, 56,000 square foot building will include an infant and toddler unit, as well as dedicated units for the specialized care of adolescent patients and children with traumatic brain injuries.
