The Big Rig Show and Shine is your Saturday truck stop and highlights the American hauler. If it keeps the country moving, it’s displayed at Carlisle. Whether it’s a tow truck, box truck, dump truck or big rig, the grounds will be lined with trucks of all shapes, sizes and styles. In addition, the Big Rig Show and Shine is open to both individual and corporately owned trucks. Recognizing the needs for today’s trucker and truck enthusiast, the venue itself features hot food, hot showers and a place to park for the weekend.
Further, the event is industry supported. On-site guests include Kelvin Locklear, owner of K&L Chrome in South Carolina and star of CMT’s “Trick My Truck,” Kevin Tetz, automotive how-to specialist and TV personality, Brian Fisher from “Fisher’s ATV World” on the Outdoor Channel and more. Kenworth, Elizabeth Truck Center, A&A Auto Stores and the American Truck Historical Society will also be taking part in the show.
Truckers rolling through Carlisle during the weekend event can be part of the Big Rig Show and Shine one of three ways. First, for $50 a truck can be registered to be judged. Registration includes weekend admission for two people and on-grounds parking. Your truck will be parked on grounds by class and judged accordingly. If you don’t want to be judged but still want to show off your rig and spend time with likeminded enthusiasts, then the Big Rig Fun Field is calling your name. For only $40 you can gain access for two plus parking on the grounds, allowing the truck to be shown but without the documented recognition. The third way through the gate is to pay the standard admission price of $10 (children 8 and under are free).
The Big Rig Show and Shine is just one component to the Carlisle Truck Nationals. With an annual crowd of nearly 40,000, haul in to one of the largest truck events geared towards the entire family. This show is a must-attend with over 2,000 trucks of all shapes and sizes. You’ll see everything from restored classics, lifted or lowered 2 and 4 wheel drives to chromed-out big rigs. The entire family will enjoy monster truck shows and rides, the Kids at Carlisle activity area, shopping in the swap meet and Manufacturers Midway. The pulse-pounding fun continues with a truck tug-o-war contest, burnouts and so much more.
