Exotissimo Introduces Mount Batur Night Trek with Amazing Sunrise Views Rewarding Adventurers

July 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Moutn Batur is a 1717 meter high active volcano in the Kitamani highlands in Northeast Bali. It is a great trekking mountain with beautiful natural scenes, offering a nice adventure for both novices and the super fit.

The adventure starts early in the morning, at 2am. The drive to the mountain takes about 90 minutes; once there, trekkers are briefed on the terrain and safety equipment.

The first section of the journey is through a mixture of volcanic ash, sand and small rocks. The climb is mostly uphill but with plenty of opportunities to stop. The total time to the top takes about two hours, and as guests move up, the terrain slowly changes to wind-swept pathways with very few rocks and vegetation.

The journey nicely sets up adventurers for the sunrise over Mount Abang and Mount Agung at the peak of Mount Batur. On clear days it is also possible to view Lombok's Mount Rinjani in the distance.

After a deserving breakfast, gusts will head on down the very path they came up. The sunshine gives trekkers to finally see the spectacular surroundings they just walked by hours earlier. They will see the lava flows and the path of destruction from the two former eruptions as well as Lake Batur in the distance.
