Alexia’s Bridal Boutique Moves to Downtown Raleigh’s WEST

One of the Triangle’s most prestigious bridal gown stores moves from Cary to popular Glenwood South district

PRLog - Jul. 20, 2011 - RALEIGH, N.C. -- RALEIGH, NC – NAI Carolantic Realty has announced that Shane Bull, Director of the firm’s Retail Services Division, recently represented WEST in downtown Raleigh’s Glenwood South district to broker a 4,500 square foot space for Alexia’s Bridal Boutique.  The boutique will be located at 400 W. North Street in Raleigh and is expected to open fall 2011.  Larry Lakins of Colliers International represented the tenant.

Alexia's Bridal Boutique (www.alexiasbridal.com) has been catering to brides looking for couture, fashion-forward gowns in a high-service environment throughout the Triangle and Southeast since 2003.  In 2008, Alexia’s Bridal Boutique owners Alexia and Michael Joyce purchased a property on the National Register of Historic Homes in downtown Cary at 302 S. Academy Street and later opened a second bridal salon—Lana Addison Bridal—that provides brides with quality gowns and the same high-service that Alexia's is known for at a more moderate price point.  With a permanent footprint now in Cary, the Joyce’s felt that it was the right time to look for a property in downtown Raleigh.

“After over a year of searching for properties in the Fayetteville Street, Cameron Village, and Glenwood South areas, Alexia and I made the decision that the WEST building was the perfect location for the new salon,” says Michael Joyce.  Alexia's Bridal Boutique will be occupying the premium corner retail commercial unit at West and North Streets.  The salon will be modern, fresh, and will provide discerning customers with bridal gowns, bridesmaid's dresses, evening wear, social attire, and accessories from the most sought after designers.

“The Glenwood South area is the perfect location for our new salon—with its draw of females to the dining and entertainment district,” adds Joyce.  “The WEST building is superior in the area because of its luxury aesthetic and mixed-use community that resides and visits the location.”

Located in Raleigh’s popular Glenwood South district, WEST is the ultimate choice in downtown living.  Completed in late 2008, WEST offers an unparalleled urban living experience above the energy and vitality of the Triangle’s most exciting entertainment district.  At 400,000 sq. ft. and 17 stories, WEST offers 170 luxury residential units, over 17,000 sq. ft. of street-level retail/commercial space, and private, secured parking decks on the first through fourth floors.

WEST was developed by Gregg Sandreuter, President of Hamilton Merritt Inc.  Through various real estate companies and partnerships, he has been involved in the development and acquisition of nearly $300,000,000 in commercial properties since 1988.  Sandreuter and Bull have worked together previously to attract several premier businesses to WEST and Sandreuter says that he welcomes the opportunity to work with Bull again.

“Shane is a hard working, diligent, top-drawer professional with exceptional character,” says Sandreuter.  “He knows the users, he knows the buildings, and he knows the marketplace.  Shane’s ability to see deals from an owner’s perspective and to move a deal to signature makes him an invaluable business partner.”

As a member of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, Bull says that the addition of Alexia’s Bridal Boutique to WEST reinforces the organization’s vision for the city as “a treasure trove of wonderful surprises” and “an eclectic gathering of fascinating people and places that’s uniquely Raleigh—and uniquely downtown”.

“WEST is not only attracting businesses that will benefit its residents, but will also be a draw for downtown visitors,” says Bull.  “It’s been a great experience working with Gregg Sandreuter and helping him bring tenants like Alexia’s Bridal Boutique to WEST.”
