The Kingsport Office of Small Business Development & Entrepreneurship (KOSBE) will host its First Annual KOSBE Award Winners Reunion event, Breakfast of Champions on Friday, August 12 from 7:30 – 9 a.m., at Golden Corral, Kingsport.

KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Kingsport Office of Small Business Development & Entrepreneurship (KOSBE) will host its First Annual KOSBE Award Winners Reunion event, Breakfast of Champions on Friday, August 12 from 7:30 – 9 a.m., at Golden Corral, 1910 N. Eastman Road, Kingsport.

Attendees will hear from 2011 Ned. R. McWherter Leadership Award winner, David McClaskey, president and co-founder of Pal’s Business Excellence Institute (BEI).

McClaskey will be speaking on, “Implementing Small Business Processes in 30 Minutes!” which highlights the importance of quality and standards as key drivers in any operation – large or small.

“Each year hundreds of leaders and managers from all types of businesses come to Kingsport from all over the country and Canada,” said McClaskey. “They learn from BEI how to improve their organizations based on Pal’s 7 Baldrige Categories, world-class performance excellence practices and see one of the best managed companies in the country.”

McClaskey is also an independent consultant, Baldrige expert and one of the few individuals to have the privilege of assisting seven companies to win eight Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Awards.

“We are very excited to have David speak to our past KOSBE Award Winners and clients about small business processes that they can easily implement in their own businesses,” said KOSBE executive director, Aundrea Wilcox. “Most importantly, we wanted to host a reunion event to get our past winners together again, to network and continue learning some valuable information!”

Cost to attend event is the cost of breakfast. All KOSBE clients and past winners are encouraged to also attend but this event is open to the public and open to Kingsport Chamber members as well as non-chamber members. Attendees are asked to pay for their breakfast at the door. There is a special KOSBE breakfast buffet discount for $7.44 which includes your drink and tax.
