CDCA and St. Louis for Kids are proud to announce their intent to merge their two
long-standing community-based organizations.

"I'd like to congratulate CDCA and St. Louis for Kids on joining forces to better provide resources to our City's children," said Mayor Francis G. Slay. "Our City's kids are our most valuable resource - and we are truly investing in the City's future by providing quality early childhood and youth programs."

The merger once completed allows CDCA and St. Louis for Kids to meet the national trend of providing a continuum of seamless services to children and youth ages birth -18 years and makes this trend a reality in the St. Louis region of Missouri and Illinois.

“Together we will give early childhood and youth programs, schools, and families the necessary resources and tools so that our children and youth have the opportunity to achieve their full potential” stated Ebony McCain, CDCA Board President.

Both agencies have developed innovative programs that have been adopted across Missouri:  “Road to Quality”, an afterschool quality initiative; and “Social Emotional Competencies in Early Childhood”, supporting teachers in implementing effective strategies that reduce challenging behaviors of young children.

“The merger makes it possible for increased innovative quality improvement services through training, technical assistance and capacity-building for child care and youth programs” indicated Jim Campbell, St. Louis for Kids Board President.

The combined services of the merged agencies will positively impact nearly 25,000 children and youth in the St. Louis region.
