Heaven Is Waiting Brings Dean Hughes Book to Life

Shot on location in Utah, Heaven Is Waiting follows widower Ned Stevens (Curt Doussett, Saints and Soldiers, The R.M.), who reluctantly re-enters the dating pool after his daughter brings home her new boyfriend.

Though it’s been years since his wife (Melanie Nelson) died, Ned still cringes at the thought of dating. After all, why would he start seeing other women when he has to look out for his daughter Liz? However, when Liz (Brittany Peltier) brings home a surprise guest from college, Ned is thrown for a loop. Can Ned accept that his little girl has fallen in love with David (Kirby Heyborne, The Best Two Years, The Singles Ward), a practically perfect know-it-all who drives Ned crazy, and will Liz succeed in diverting her dad’s attention from sabotaging her relationship to succumbing to the charms of Carol (Michelle Money), the single woman Ned sees jogging every morning?

Together, Liz and David teach Ned that with love, there are always second chances. The directorial debut of Michael Flynn, this movie is sure to lift your spirits with its lighthearted tale of growing up, letting go, and opening your heart to the idea of making a fresh start.

Flynn had previously produced The Best Two Years and acted in several independent films before he contacted Dean Hughes about adapting and directing Midway to Heaven.
