During the convention, they studied tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and ballet. The girls also took classes in alternative dance. The Corps dance company placed second with their tap routine, "Sing, Sing, Sing." Another group, the Silhouettes, also placed second with their jazz routine, "Diamonds." Performance and competition teams weren't the only ones recognized at DanceMakers, Inc. Michele Stewart, owner of the Pink Slipper Dance Studio, won the national Marjorie Perry Award, an honor that exemplifies the joy of teaching dance and true devotion to their students. See a picture of Miss Michele accepting her award here: http://dancemakersinc.com/ Sydney Shoffner, a Silhouettes member, was also honored at the convention. She was selected by ballet teacher, Janice Barringer, as an outstanding student. Sydney received a scholarship to attend two regional conventions and serve as an assistant to Ms. Barringer. The experience helped the Pink Slipper dancers grow as dancers and young women. The studio can't wait to head back next year! # # # Pink Slipper Dance Studio, Noblesville, IN.
