House Lights Media announces theatrical premiere of festival favorite The Drummond Will

July 19, 2011 - PRLog -- House Lights Media Partners (House Lights Media) is pleased to announce the engagement of festival favorite, “THE DRUMMOND WILL”, directed by emerging British Writer and Director, Alan Butterworth, for its North American premiere.  THE DRUMMOND WILL premieres at the Harkins Valley Art Theatre located in Tempe, Arizona on Friday, July 22, 2011, following a hugely successful festival circuit which saw the film play to packed audiences and has led to critical acclaim from reviewers across two continents.  Harkins Theatres, a family owned and operated business, founded and based in Arizona since 1933 has put its support behind the independent film THE DRUMMOND WILL.

THE DRUMMOND WILL is a British dark comedy/mystery which reflects its influences from the Ealing Comedies of the 30’s and 40’s with a sprinkling of Monty Python on top.  It follows two estranged brothers, Marcus and Danny Drummond, as they return to the decaying country village of their father, for his funeral.  In settling the affairs of their father’s estate, the brothers find that things are not as they appear.  As the body counts rise, the brothers try to figure out why their father had a stash of cash in his possession.  THE DRUMMOND WILL was praised for its whip smart story telling and was described as “hilarious…an alfresco farce” by Dennis Harvey, Variety, and was labeled “Really, a fantastic film,” by Stewart Nusbaumer, The Huffington Post.

THE DRUMMOND WILL stars Mark Oosterveen, Phillip James, Jonathan Hansler, Victoria Jeffrey, Keith Parry, Nigel Osner and Jeremy Drakes, THE DRUMMOND WILL was produced by London based, Tobias Tobbell.

Steve Roberts, President, House Lights Media, said “We are excited to be launching THE DRUMMOND WILL in North America with the Harkins Theatre chain.  We couldn't ask for a better partner to enable "Indie" film buffs to view this great British dark comedy at the Valley Art Theatre in Tempe.”  The Valley Art theatre on Mill Ave was built by Red Harkins in 1940 and is Arizona’s oldest and longest running movie theatre dedicated to the art and independent film.  “We are thrilled to be working with the Harkins Theatre chain, one of the preeminent exhibitors in the country.  They have been amazingly supportive of the indie film market and our release efforts,” commented Sandy Moore, Senior Vice President, House Lights Media.  The film is also enjoying additional support from the Tempe area through a multi-evening premiere party at the Rúla Búla Irish Pub next to the Harkins Valley Art Theatre on Mill Ave.  “The Rúla Búla has been fantastic in hosting our pre-premiere and premiere party on Thursday and Friday evening, July 21 and 22, 2011.  They are offering drink specials and THE DRUMMOND WILL giveaways both evenings leading up to the premiere and offering THE DRUMMOND WILL movie ticket holders additional incentives up to a month after our premiere.  We couldn’t be happier with the support of the Tempe area,” said Ms. Moore.
