Food Bank for Westchester Receives $12,500 Donation From Hudson Valley Mechanical Contractors Assn

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 19, 2011 - Millwood, NY – The Food Bank for Westchester, which has been fighting hunger for over 20 years, has received a donation of $12,500 from the Hudson Valley Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA). The MCA also donated an equal amount to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley. The donated funds are proceeds from the MCA’s popular annual Golf Outing held at Whippoorwill Club, Armonk on May 23, 2011.
     The Hudson Valley MCA is an organization of heating, cooling, plumbing and piping industry professionals. Its annual Golf Outing provides association members with opportunities for networking and comraderie. Since the event generates a profit, the MCA has a tradition of donating the proceeds to a not-for-profit organization selected each year by the membership. Because MCA membership spans the Hudson Valley, the members opted to split this year’s donation between the Food Bank for Westchester and the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.
     MCA President Bobby Courtien and Executive Director Patricia Ploeger came to the Food Bank for Westchester Tuesday, June 28, to present the check to the Food Bank for Westchester Executive Director Christina Rohatynskyj.
     “The economy in the last few years has impacted our industry, and we understand it has also made it hard for many people to put food on the table. The MCA is pleased to make this contribution to the Food Bank for Westchester,” said Courtien.
     “We are grateful for the generosity of the Hudson Valley Mechanical Contractors Association,” responded Rohatynskyj. “These funds will be put right to work fighting hunger in Westchester County.”
