Lake Festival - New Music Festival For North West Uk - Near Beauty Spot Hollingworth Lake

July 19, 2011 - PRLog -- A new event ‘Lake Festival’ will be taking place near popular country park, Hollingworth Lake, on Saturday 27th to Monday 29th  August 2011. ‘Lake Festival’ is aimed at families with a musical line up spanning 50 years from Rock’n’Roll legend, Pete Maclaine & the Clan to ‘Electro’  dance niche DJ Joe Barnes and TV’s Emmerdale celebrity, DJ  Jeff Hordley  (bad-boy Kane). Acoustic artistes such as Dave Dunn & Friends and even Bandaoke to enable aspiring singers to be filmed ‘fronting’ a live 6-piece  band on the main festival stage - then have the video uploaded to YouTube & other social media sites.

Diversified Musical Line Up
There will be further announcements about acts with confirmed acts including Salford Jets with Mike Sweeney, Northern Uproar, Girl Peculiar, The Rain Band with Rowetta ( X- Factor/Happy Mondays), Idol Frets, Johnny Sax, The Fast Cars, Ruby Ann Patterson, Pete Maclaine & the Clan, Glen Kirkham, The Removal Men,  Tom Hingley (Ex Inspiral Carpets), Billy, Mandy & the Bigheads and  Bandaoke.
Just confirmed is internet millionaire - Simon Coulson who fronts the UK ‘s No1 Coldplay tribute band – Coolplay. Keyboard player, Simon will be doing unplugged sets of Coldplay songs & contemporary hits. Simon will also host a session on ‘How to Make Your Lliving on the Internet.  Nigel Pickering – local guitar teacher & lead guitarist with Idol Frets will be giving a guitar workshop. There will also be a ‘Make Me Laugh’ comedy talent contest.

Family Entertainment , Food & Fun
There will be a funfair with children’s amusements and a wide selection of food on offer   plus magicians, street entertainers, trade stands & craft stalls with alternative health treatments - all of which provide many good reasons to attend Lake Festival.  Mindful of  the current economic situation, admission is just £10 per day or £25 for a 3-day pass and children under 10 with adults go ‘Free’ - so for just £20,  it represents good value for a Bank Holiday Weekend family outing.  Families can also buy a 3 day family ticket to include camping, car parking and admission for 2 adults & 3 children..

Show organiser, Steve Foley says: “We want Lake Festival to be inclusive and for the local community to become involved  and for the event to have a charitable element for example local jeweller John Alexander will be singing songs from his CD ’18 Roses’ – all  proceeds going to Springhill Hospice.’
