The Governor is the Chief Executive Officer over those areas, presides at all District meetings and has general supervision over the affairs of the District as well as over other officers. This office encourages membership in all areas of operating a sound and active club that promotes and protects the well-being of advertising. One of the primary events of the organization is the annual ADDY Awards which has often been compared to the Emmy’s of the advertising world.
Gillet has already fulfilled one role, as he has appointed his all volunteer committee chairs for the year 2011 to 2012.

For the last four years, he has served on the 4th District's Executive Committee as secretary, treasurer, a title he held for two years, and Governor-Elect. With all his experience, members of his district of the federation are positive Gillet will continue to strive in serving the trade association by “protecting and promoting the well-being of advertising”
Gillet’s additional experience as a leading role in the 4th District of the Federation includes holding the title and position of president of the local branch four times, beginning in 1994. During the years that he wasn't serving as president, he filled a variety of roles at the District level. Some include Membership Chair, Club Management Chair and PAC Chair, to name a few.
