Music With A Mission: Local Bands Battle To Benefit Children With Chronic And Terminal Illness

New York, NY – July 18, 2011 -- On Thursday, July 28th four up and coming local bands will vie for the title of ArtWorks Battle of the Bands Champions. The fundraiser will take place from 8:00pm to 11:00pm at Arlene’s Grocery.
 
July 18, 2011 - PRLog -- The money raised by this event will help support ArtWorks, The Naomi Cohain Foundation in its continuing mission to provide children suffering from chronic and life-threatening illnesses, and their siblings, access to creative and performing arts programs.

The contenders are Bern and the Brights, Late Cambrian, Life Without Warning, and Keith Paine, and they each bring a unique sound to the competition. Each band will perform for an esteemed panel of celebrity judges including Publisher of Guitar World Magazine, Greg DiBenedetto, Q104.3 On-Air Radio Personality, Maria Milito, Songs Music Publishing Head of A&R Ron Perry, and President of Musinart, Jonathan Rhinegold.
Several local businesses are participating and have generously donated items for prizes and raffles including: Arlene’s Grocery, Bennett Studios, David Goldman Photography, Foto Care, Hudson Terrace, Sam Ash Music Stores, and Talent Splash.

“We are so excited to bring up and coming talent to the forefront, and at the same time raise awareness for our organization,” said ArtWorks Executive Director, Daniela Mendelsohn. “ArtWorks celebrates the creative spirit and at the Battle of the Bands that is exactly what we will be doing.”
