PRLog - July 18, 2011 - HUNTINGTON, N.Y. -- The Huntington Bicycle Club yesterday hosted the 29th Annual Gold Coast Tour, a unique cycling event that took over 800 bicyclists through 16 towns in a five-course scenic journey on Long Island’s Gold Coast. Riders navigated their way through The Century Challenge, a 100-mile ride for the experienced biker, The Grand Tour Ride – a 70-mile ride through the many harbors and hills of the Gold Coast, The Vintage Villages Ride – a 55-mile ride through a string of charming and historic villages, The Scenic Harbors Ride – a 25-mile ride where cyclists enjoyed the magnificent views of Huntington and Cold Spring Harbors, and The Trial Ride, a 12.9-mile course where families and novice cyclists were escorted along a pleasant, flat route. Here, participants were taught about the rules of the road, bike safety, and were able to experience a safe, scenic, group ride.
