The Truth About Being A Published Author

Inside Secrets Revealed: Publishers Do Not Want You to Know

July 18, 2011 - PRLog -- Thanks to the Amazon Kindle there are virtually unlimited options to publish a book quickly and at minimal cost.  The days of the vanity press charging thousands of dollars to publish a book are over.  Independents are seeing their book in front of thousands, even millions of people for the cost of dinner and movie, or less.

The Kindle Marketplace is the secret the book publishers do not want told. Right now, the process and mystery of how to self-publish on Kindle is revealed to all.

Many new and experienced authors and taking the Kindle route because the benefits are plenty.  First, in an instant, it is possible to be known as an author.  Second, it is also possible to add the credits to a resume or a bio.  Third, becoming self- published also adds credibility to a job application or a college application.  Authors are well respected and instantly head and shoulders above the crowd.

Having the creative freedom to decide what to write about and what to publish is part of what makes becoming a Kindle author exciting. Not needing to write to please a demanding publisher but to freely create is significant.  Having personal control over every aspect of the book is another reason writers are flocking to Kindle Book Publishing.  No outside source exists to restrict what the subject matter is or what is said.

There is also money to be made.  Self-published authors make more money per sale.   When a book sells on Kindle for two dollars and ninety-nine cents, a publisher may sell a printed book for ten dollars.  It’s more likely that an independent author will make a much larger share of each sale through Amazon with nothing to divide with a publisher.  And of course, the publisher will also put the book up on Kindle as well and keep a piece of the Kindle sales too.

It’s easy to test out new ideas to see how they are received when writing for the Amazon Kindle. Short works are welcomed and it does not take much to impress or have a page up quickly.
As a Kindle author it’s possible to get an offer by an audio book publisher to buy the audio rights. This can prove to be highly profitable and can make an author well known. Further, if sales are good, a book publisher may be interested in publishing an author’s next work.

When self-publishing on Kindle, it means keeping all the rights to the work. This means freedom to make changes or change the book when it comes out in print. Having the ability to control the price of the book (which most authors have never been able to do) is another benefit.

It’s possible to pay hundreds of dollars to have a written piece converted to kindle.   It is not necessary though.  So how does one go about publishing on Kindle, and convert that Word .doc or PDF file?  How about getting a review of a recently published Kindle book?  It’s easy and affordable with a five dollar payment at the link below.
