This year, at the 32nd International Vienna Motor Symposium, Volkswagen announced that the brand will develop plug-in hybrid versions of a few of their models in time for the 2013 and 2014 lineups. During the Symposium, Volkswagen also debuted two new “clean” engines that will reduce CO2 emissions, with one of the engines running on an 85 percent ethanol blend. Ft. Over the mid-term, the plug-in hybrid offers great potential, because it combines the best of two worlds in one vehicle.”
