Follow on Google News | Humans Still Clashing with Tigers in the Manas National ParkNew reports have emerged of clashes between the local population and the animals of Manas National Park, including many of the Park's endangered tigers.
By: Animal Adoptions Dr Pranjit Basumatary from the Wild Trust of India has highlighted this, saying: “Growing incidents of human-animal conflict have posed a serious threat to the animals in the Manas biosphere.” It is a worrying situation as the Manas National Park is home to many endangered species, including the Bengal Tiger, as seen at http://www.animaladoptions.org.uk/ However, having said that the Park’s wildlife is in a much better position than it has been in the past. In 1992 the park was in serious trouble, with widespread poaching not the only problem as it was also at the heart of many terrorist activities. Fortunately, thanks to a lot of hard work over the past two decades, the park is now no longer in danger but it is important to keep an eye on the situation to ensure that human-animal conflicts are kept to a minimum. As has been highlighted in many places, such as on http://www.endangeredtigers.org, wild cats, and particularly tigers, are highly endangered and every saved tiger is crucial for the chances of survival for that species. # # # Animal Adoptions is a site highlighting the plight of many of the world's most endangered animals, including polar bears, orangutans, tigers and leopards.
