The specialist recruitment consultancy says that because of the close-knit nature of the industry, data centre professionals need to work harder than most to protect their image.
The company issued the warning after finding that demand for data centre workers has surged in the past year. Comparing the three months to the start of July 2011 with the same period in 2010, it found that vacancies have increased by 17% overall, with junior appointments up by 21%.

“It is encouraging to see so many jobs being created within the data centre space, which has been largely driven by the increased take-up of cloud computing solutions. However, those who are just entering the industry need to be mindful that their reputation really matters.

“News travels fast in the data centre world, so it is vitally important that workers leave their employers on good terms and avoid being blacklisted in the future.”
