Follow on Google News | ‘Reputation matters’, data centre professionals warnedIndividuals working within the data centre industry need to ensure they maintain a positive reputation at all times, or risk exile from the sector’s major players, IntaPeople has said.
By: IntaPeople The specialist recruitment consultancy says that because of the close-knit nature of the industry, data centre professionals need to work harder than most to protect their image. The company issued the warning after finding that demand for data centre workers has surged in the past year. Comparing the three months to the start of July 2011 with the same period in 2010, it found that vacancies have increased by 17% overall, with junior appointments up by 21%. Craig Jackson, a senior data centre consultant at IntaPeople (http://www.intapeople.com/) “It is encouraging to see so many jobs being created within the data centre space, which has been largely driven by the increased take-up of cloud computing solutions. However, those who are just entering the industry need to be mindful that their reputation really matters. “Unfortunately, we are seeing a growing number of well-qualified individuals who, despite having the necessary skills, are being rejected across the board because they may have made some serious errors of judgment in the past. “News travels fast in the data centre world, so it is vitally important that workers leave their employers on good terms and avoid being blacklisted in the future.” # # # IntaPeople is a specialist recruitment consultancy offering bespoke solutions within four key industry sectors – IT, Engineering, Commercial, and Datacentre.
