Fox Lane High School Treated to Healthy Lunches

July 15, 2011 - PRLog -- BEDFORD, NY: This year’s attendees at the Fox Lane High School’s Wellness Day event on April 12, 2011 received a healthy lunch from Panera Bread. Four of the area Panera Bread Cafes were involved in putting the catering order together, including the Bedford Hills, Cortlandt Manor, Fishkill, and Yorktown Heights cafes. The 1,400 individual lunch box orders were distributed to students, faculty, and staff at the Wellness Day event. Sandwich choices included Mediterranean Veggie, Sierra Turkey, Tuna, Ham and Swiss, and Smoked Turkey. Each person received a delicious, healthy sandwich along with a pickle, bag of chips, and a chocolate chip cookie.

Sarah Lacour, the social worker at Fox Lane High School, suggested Panera Bread as a lunch choice for the event. “It was great to see everyone enjoying the food from Panera Bread, which was delicious, satisfying, and most importantly, healthy,” states Lacour.

For the past 14 years, Panera Bread has helped many charitable organizations through Operation Dough-Nation®, a program that allows Panera Bread and its customers to aid local charities.  Cash donations made by customers in the Community Breadbox™ cash boxes at the registers are distributed annually to local charities. Panera also donates unsold bread to local area hunger relief agencies.
