As the Access Intelligent Forms Suite creates a barcoded e-forms admission packet, the Access Patient Labeling System intelligently maps patient data from any health information system (HIS) onto patient wristbands provided by LaserBand and converts the appropriate data into wristband barcodes.

These bands and the 2-D barcodes printed on them are then used throughout the visit to ensure positive patient ID, to support bedside medication verification (BMV), and to ensure correct specimen collection. They can also be used to verify patient identity when using medical devices that support barcode recognition, such as electrocardiograms (ECG) and fetal monitors.
