(Flushing, MI – July 15, 2011) The 2011 Beach Book Festival released the list of winners for 2011 this week.  Michigan native Kristina Mercier’ first book, An Agreement with Love, won the poetry category for the competition honoring the best beach read of the year. Submissions from around the world include independent and small presses.  

This is the second honor Ms. Mercier’s book has received this year, the first one being a finalist in the NIEA’s Indie Excellence Award in poetry for overall excellence in publishing.

An Agreement with Love is a story of love and loving that is uniquely told through poetry, prose and a letter correspondence between Red, the main character and a kindred spirit named, Blue Morpho.  The book has a lasting effect on readers.
