Proposals Being Accepted for Youth Employment Training Project/Bidder Conference July 21

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 14, 2011 - VENTURA, CALIF.—The Business & Employment Services Department (BESD) is seeking qualified organizations to provide employment, training and education services to economically disadvantaged older youth (ages 18 to 21) in Oxnard. Funding for the program is available under Title I of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998, with funds being distributed by the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) of Ventura County. A bidder’s conference is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21 at the Oxnard Public Library (251 South A St., Oxnard). Agencies or firms interested in applying for these funds are encouraged to attend.

   A total of $150,000 is available to one or more contractors to serve WIA eligible youth. Program services will need to be available beginning in late September 2011 through June 30, 2012. Contractors will work in partnership with the BESD of the County of Ventura Human Services Agency to ensure the full array of WIA services are available to assist youth achieve their educational and employment goals.
