PRLog - July 13, 2011 - CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Brighton Publishing LLC signs authors Jamie Kendall and Carol O’Riley for their fast-paced, travel adventure of two divorced women who defy the odds—and get more than they bargained for—when they befriend each other after joining the U.S. Foreign Service.
A Ticket to Tomorrow
For Jamie and Carol, life in the United States has been filled with hardship and loss. Following their own separate paths, but each searching for a more meaningful future and financially better times, they are each accepted into the Foreign Service. When they meet on assignment in Chile, a friendship begins that will span many years—and many continents!
“Ticket to Tomorrow: Adventures in Travel” follows Jamie and Carol—their careers, their travels, their loves, and their mishaps—though many exotic, and not-so-exotic, places. Readers will walk in their footsteps through hilarious language classes in Paris, struggle hauling water up four flights of stairs in Turkey, develop a manic addiction to pinochle in Morocco, date the sultry locals in Chile, and shop until you drop in Jakarta.
And still the adventures are just beginning! From “Chop Chop Square” in Saudi Arabia to risking life and limb driving in Japan, Jamie and Carol take readers still further on adventure after adventure in Paraguay, Djibouti, Swaziland, Cyprus and Baghdad. And would you believe the best pizza in the world is found in Malawi?
No, living in foreign countries isn’t easy, especially for single parents with pre-teens to support. As Jamie and Carol will prove, attitude is everything!
“For the world traveler or those who wish they were, Jamie and Carol have delivered a non-stop romp that will entertain from start to finish,” said Kathie McGuire. “Buckle up and settle in for a great ride with two great ladies on an amazing adventure.”
Jamie Kendall was born in Ohio and grew up in California. She is divorced, has two children, twin granddaughters and presently lives in Florida. Carol O’Riley was born in Massachusetts, joined the State Department in 1989 and travelled all over the world with the Foreign Service. She now resides in Florida.
