Twenty Five of San Diego’s “coolest companies” to meet nearly 100 venture capitalists at 9th Annual Venture Summit Friday
- Peter Diamandis, XPRIZE Foundation head, to deliver keynote -

SAN DIEGO – July 11, 2011 – Twenty Five of San Diego’s “coolest” companies will meet up with 100 venture capitalists on Friday at San Diego Venture Group’s 9th Annual Venture Summit.  

The companies were selected from over 60 nominees for their innovation, investor appeal, and progress.

“We’re thrilled to be showcasing the extensive innovative community that resides in San Diego to not only the investors who will be attending, but the several hundred other entrepreneurs and advisors that are slated to participate,” said David Titus, President of the San Diego Venture Group. “Together, we’ll uncover trends and the opportunities for everyone in the room. That’s what we do month in and month out.”

The 9th Annual Venture Summit will be held on July 15 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the OMNI Hotel in downtown San Diego. Peter Diamandis, CEO and Founder of the XPRIZE Foundation, will headline the event. X PRIZE Foundation is a non-profit focused on designing and launching large incentive prizes to drive radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity.  Best known for the $10 million Ansari X PRIZE for private spaceflight, the Foundation is now launching prizes in four groups:  Exploration, Life Sciences, Energy/Environment and Education/Global Development.  Today the X PRIZE has three active prizes: The $10 million Archon X PRIZE for Genomics, the $30 million Google Lunar X PRIZE and the $1.4 million Wendy Schmidt Oil Cleanup X CHALLENGE.
