Speaking during the test run of the project which was held at both Shoprite outlets in Lekki and Surulere, the managing director of Recare Limited, Mr. Chika Ikenga informed that the aim of the initiative was to ensure that Nigerians are educated on how to live and maintain a healthy hair. He bemoaned the prevalence of different hair and scalp problems like hair breakage, dandruff, slow hair growth and dirty hair and scalp amongst women and youth, and hinted that this is due to lack of information on how to properly take care of the hair and scalp.
“At present, 9 out of 10 women have a case of hair breakage; dandruff is as common as flu. But the major problem is that there’s lack of information on these problems so women don’t know to go about the solutions to it. So this project will do its best to provide knowledge-based solutions to hair breakage, dandruff and other hair and scalp problems, as well as offer free treatment to people who have these problems. There’s a need to educate people on how to live and maintain a healthy hair”, he hinted.
700 customers of Shoprite were the first lot to benefit from the project as the brand gave out invitation cards to a free hair therapy to the prestigious Natures Gentle Touch hair institute where they will be diagnosed of any hair and scalp problems and have it treated for free.
The brand has promised that the project will be taken to neighborhoods, schools, churches and community centers across Nigeria.
Natures Gentle Touch is a natural hair care brand that provides solutions to different hair and scalp problems. It is owned by personal style brand, Recare Limited.
