Carlsbad CVA Gives Back to Artists with Give Art A Chance, a Silent Auction

July 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Summer time is the perfect setting to "Give Art A Chance” and the time to give back to all the artists and musicians alike that have volunteered their time and efforts in promoting our event. "Thank you".

The Carlsbad Village Association will be holding a Silent Auction- GIVE ART A CHANCE, beginning on July 22nd to August 25th, where on the evening of the August event, we will announce the winning bidders of the auction. Viewing and bidding will take place for approximately 3 weeks prior to winning announcements.

The first art pieces donated, will begin the auction and on display at the 10Hr Art Gallery, a temporary site, sponsored by the Carlsbad Chocolate Bar located at 2963 State Street.  The gallery will be open for 6 days, to begin with from 1-6pm and we welcome your visits, bidding and comments.

Be certain to stop by the Carlsbad Chocolate Bar that has just relocated to the corner of Carlsbad Village Drive and State Street and pickup your chocolate and wine selections.

So as not to curtail the momentum of new incoming art we have created a Silent Auction website especially for viewing the pieces, with details and information about your favorite artist, so don’t miss it, we have already begun.

Live viewing of the art will be available at an additional location to be announced soon and bidding sheets will be available.

As a thank you and to help all out , we are providing the opportunity to "all" artists to receive 100% of the proceeds of their work, something unheard of in an auction.  All the artists have created a wonderful atmosphere for residents and visitors alike to stroll our village. The musicians have created the atmosphere, the artists have provided the color.  All participants have volunteered their time to bring this event to the city.  "We might be a small event, but we have mighty hearts", Cheryl Ehlers, Event Manager stated.

Artists have come from all over to participate and have asked for nothing more than a spot to display their art or play their music,with hope of someone interested in their work and a wonderful opportunity to tell their stories and to receive acknowledgement of appreciation of their art.  "The public does not see what happens behind the scenes and the preparation it takes to be a part of an event".  Being an artist herself, Cheryl Ehlers can deeply appreciate the value and effort involved in donating your time with the possibility of a successful evening. "I hope this jester is well received by all and accepted in the vain it is intended."
