Indianapolis-area schools need your vote by 7/15 to win $10,000 as part of Ford’s Focus on Schools

This spring five local schools participated in Ford Motor Company’s innovative Focus on Schools program by partnering with Indianapolis-area Ford Dealers to create videos featuring the features and technologies of the 2012 Ford Focus.

July 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Indianapolis, IN July 8, 2011 – This spring five local schools participated in Ford Motor Company’s innovative Focus on Schools program by partnering with Indianapolis-area Ford Dealers to create videos featuring the features and technologies of the 2012 Ford Focus.  Each school earned $500 courtesy of Indianapolis Area Dealerships and now has the opportunity to win up to $10,000.

With nearly than 200 schools from 14 states participating in the competition, the top ten schools that receive the most votes on www.FordFocusonSchools.com will earn an additional $1,000 to $10,000 for their school – with $10,000 going to the school with the most votes, $9,000 going to the school with the second most votes and on to $1,000. To vote for your school, go to www.FordFocusonSchools.com and cast your vote for their video no later than July 15, 2011.

“We know that school budgets are being cut, and because our Ford dealers are part of the local community, we want to help,” said Tim Witt, vehicle sales and marketing manager of Ford’s Great Lakes Market Area. “This is why we’re excited to have area Ford dealers partner with Indianapolis schools to help them raise funds for a number of important school programs, while also introducing the redesigned 2012 Ford Focus and its innovative safety technologies to the community.”

In addition to raising much-needed revenue for local schools, the program highlights Ford’s redesigned 2012 Focus and its innovative technologies, including:

•   MyKey™, a system that allows parents to limit a vehicle’s top speed and audio volume to encourage safe driving behavior in teens.
•   SYNC®, the fully integrated, in-vehicle voice-activated communications and entertainment system with 911 AssistTM, Vehicle Health Report and GPS-based features including business search and call completion.
•   Active Park Assist, a technology that helps drivers position the vehicle for parallel parking and then steer it into a parking spot without touching the steering wheel.
