San Fran Street Car Derails in LA!

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 7, 2011 - Los Angeles, CA (July 7, 2011) – An authentic San Francisco cable car, complete with fog and a soundtrack by the San Francisco Symphony, will appear throughout Southern California from July 7 to 10, bringing a taste of San Francisco culture to its Angeleno neighbors. The initiative “49 Hours of SF Arts & Culture” will distribute Bay Area themed prizes to the first five people to greet the cable car at each of its stops. Locations and prize passwords will be updated by @onlyinSF on Twitter; a tentative schedule is below.

In addition to an onboard art gallery featuring San Francisco cultural attractions, a live albino python and a “Snakes & Lizards” ambassador from the California Academy of Sciences will be available to meet fans and followers. Renowned performer Persia, who most recently represented SFMOMA in San Francisco’s Pride Parade, will appear as Femme au Chapeau (the subject of Henri Matisse's eponymous masterpiece.)

The campaign is supported by American Express, California Academy of Sciences, Classic Cable Car Sightseeing, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), the San Francisco Symphony and Virgin America.
