Migraine Pain Specialist, Dr. Mihnea Dumitrescu, Joins Ascendant Neuro

July 8, 2011 - PRLog -- DALLAS, TX , July 7, 2011-- Ascendant Neuro announced today that Austin-based pain specialist Mihnea Dumitrescu, M.D. has joined its elite consortium of world-class physicians.

Dr. Dumitrescu is board certified in two disciplines—physical medicine and rehabilitation and pain medicine. He is currently the principal at Precision Pain Consultants, his private practice focused on the precise diagnosis and treatment of migraine headache pain, spinal conditions and sports injuries.

In 1996, Dr. Dumitrescu graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in philosophy and religion. In 2000, he completed his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, and spent a transitional year in internal medicine at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Dumitrescu completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Louisiana State University New Orleans and went on to pursue an interventional spine/pain management fellowship under world-renowned interventional radiologist Charles Aprill, M.D.

    While in New Orleans, Dumitrescu became associate professor in pain medicine at the Tulane School of Medicine and helped educate and train the pain medicine fellows at the Veterans Administration hospital. In the aftermath of hurricane Katrina,

Dumitrescu moved back to Austin, Texas, where he established his own practice to pursue his interests in discography and interventional intra-discal therapies for discogenic pain, proliferative and regenerative medicine, and neurostimulation. He is a member of numerous professional societies at the state and national level.
