The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), Florida Chapter, Announces New Board Members

July 7, 2011 - PRLog -- NACD Florida is proud to announce the election of new members to the Board of Directors – Gail Birks, Pat McKay, Joseph O’Donnell and Susan Stautberg along with Mary Lynn Moser who was elected to the Advisory Board.

NACD Chairman, Gerry Czarnecki said, “Each of these accomplished Directors will bring a wealth of governance experience and subject matter expertise to the Board and to the Chapter membership.”  Carolyn Chin, the President of NACD added, “We look forward to the future contributions of these outstanding leaders to NACD as we introduce new programs to support and be the ‘voice’ of the director.”

Gail Birks has been a highly successful independent director and entrepreneur for the past 17 and 21 years respectively. For the past 21 years, Ms. Birks has served as the President/CEO for
CMA Enterprise Incorporated, a boutique organization development consulting firm that
specializes in performance and process improvement business solutions for corporations
in both private and public sectors, as well as governmental agencies and large non-profit organizations.  Ms. Birks currently serves on the Board of Directors for Gibraltar Private Bank and Trust, FSB and on the advisory board for Women Executive Leadership.  She was recently recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Black Professionals in South Florida -2011.  

Pat McKay, a partner with Templeton & Company, a South Florida based certified public accounting and consulting firm, joined the firm in January 2009 and heads up its Fort Lauderdale office.  She is a Senior Finance Executive who has extensive experience with publicly traded global companies in the consumer products and retail industries, at companies such as Restoration Hardware, AutoNation and Dole Food Company.  An alumna of Florida Atlantic University, Ms. McKay was inducted into its alumni Hall of Fame in 2006. In 2007, she was recognized as one of the “100 Most Influential People in Finance” by Treasury & Risk magazine. Most recently she was named as an Influential Business Woman by The South Florida Business Journal and serves on the FAU Foundation Board and co-chairs the South Florida Chapter of Women Corporate Directors.

Joseph O’Donnell currently serves on the Board of Directors for ModusLink Corporation; is an Independent Director, Member of Corporate Governance & Nominating Committee, Member of Special Committee and Member of Operations & Strategy Committee for Comverse Technology Inc.;  Director, Member of Audit Committee and Member of Compensation Committee for Superior Essex, Inc.; Director and Chairman of Nominating & Corporate Governance Committee for Comverge, Inc.; and Director ModusLink Global Solutions, Inc.  Mr. O’Donnell was recently appointed to the panel of Commissioners to initiate the 2011 Report of the NACD Blue Ribbon Commission on the Lead Director.

Susan Schiffer Stautberg is a Co-founder and Global Co-chair of Women Corporate Directors and is also President of PartnerCom Corporation, which assembles and manages Advisory Boards globally for businesses, governments, and non-profits.  In her capacity as Corporate and non-profit Director, she has served on or created the Advisory Boards for Avon, Bank of America, Bayer Diabetes Care, CIGNA, Citibank, Council on Competitiveness, Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management, Goldman Sachs, Investment New Zealand, Merrill Lynch, Microsoft, Northern Trust, Northwestern Mutual, Procter and Gamble, The United Nations Office for Project Services and Wal-Mart.  Ms. Stautberg also Co-founded OnBoard Bootcamps, which provides an insider’s guide on how to be selected to be a Corporate, Private Company or Advisory Board Director.

Mary Lynn Moser currently serves on the Board of Directors for Raymond James Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial, Inc. ; WFAE Radio, Charlotte, NC, a National Public Radio affiliate serving 22 counties in North and South Carolina, where she serves as Chair of the Board Membership and Nominations Committee and a Member of the Investment (Finance) Committee, and Audit Committee.  She is also a Founding member of the Board of Governors of The Smile Train, the world’s largest cleft surgeries organization, which provides more than 100,000 cleft surgeries annually to children in less developed countries.  Ms. Moser community involvement includes: Women Executive Leadership (Charter Member), Women’s Initiative of the Community Foundation of Collier County, Women’s Impact Fund, and Students in Free Enterprise (“SIFE”, a global student organization operating in 48 countries).
