July 7, 2011 - PRLog -- The University of Texas at Arlington Automation & Robotics Research Institute and its Business Extension Centers proudly announce its 15th Government Procurement Conference Wednesday, August 10 at the Arlington Convention Center.

Businesses wanting to compete for government contracts learn how to find opportunities and structure winning bids through a variety of educational workshops, on-site procurement experts and high level networking. Many government agencies are required to set aside a percentage of their procurements for small businesses.  The U.S. government procured more than $38B worth of goods and services from Texas businesses in fiscal year 2010. The goal of the conference is disseminating valuable procurement and technical information on doing business with federal, state and local government agencies as well as their prime contractors and subcontractors.  Co-chaired by TX District 6 Congressman Joe Barton and other North Texas congressional members, last year’s conference served over 1,000 attendees.

Register online today and take advantage of early bird discounts at www.gpc-texas.org. Early bird admission is $80 after July 8th, the registration is $90 and late registration is $100. Also take advantage of Early-Bird Exhibitor rates too!

The General Services Agency (GSA) is providing the keynote speaker. The GSA was established by the federal government in 1949 to help manage and support the basic functioning of federal agencies. It supplies products and communications for U. S. government offices, provides transportation and office space to federal employees and develops government-wide cost-minimizing policies.  Margot Dorfman, Vice President of the National Association of Small Business Contractors (NASBC) and CEO of the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce (USWCC) is confirmed as the luncheon keynote. The National Association of Small Business Contractors is the nations' leading trade association exclusively supporting the interests of America's proud small business suppliers who provide goods and services to government, prime contractor, and corporate buyers. The USWCC uses a platform of influence, innovation and opportunity, to work with and for its members to grow successful businesses and careers.
