July 6, 2011 - PRLog -- WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Latinos in Social Media (LATISM) extends its commitment to reach out to the largest and fastest growing minority group in the country – the nation’s 50.5 million Latinos – to provide better and more accurate information on the issues that matter to our community by unveiling its new bilingual blog. The new bilingual blog, http://blog.latism.org, features articles and resources for Latino professionals, community leaders and advocates.  Latinos in Social Media is among the first organizations in the country to provide such an extensive amount of articles created by and for Latino online influentials in both English and Spanish.

As the Latino community continues its meteoric growth on and offline, more information and better tools are needed to provide valuable information that is both in language, in culture and on the pulse of the Latino online. “In order for the Latino community to truly advance, there needs to be a platform that allows for readily-available information in the language of your choice,” said Ana Roca-Castro, Founder and Chair of LATISM. “We are committed to making sure that the whole Latino community has access to the information they need to participate in the public discourse going on in America today.”

In addition to its mainstay sections on Money, Tech, Education, and Health, the new bilingual blog features new sections, including:

•   Civic Engagement
•   Family
•   Business
•   Career
•   Music
•   Social Good
•   Politics
•   Entertainment
•   Sports

In order to make the participation on LATISM initiatives more fun and memorable for its 134,000+ members, LATISM is also launching an assortment of free social buttons that will allow members to stay connected and wear their LATISM Pride on their blogs and websites.
