Community Leaders Unite For 'Operation Nourishment'

July 6, 2011 - PRLog -- WASHINGTON – Community activist Tony Lewis Jr., The Board Administration and Sons of Life will team up for Operation Nourishment on Wednesday, July 6m 2011, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. to help remedy two troubling epidemics that plague Washington -- homelessness and hunger.   Operation Nourishment is an outreach charity event that will serve more than 350 residents of the Catholic Charities New York Avenue Shelter, 1355 New York Avenue N.E, Washington.

Operation Nourishment will bring attention to the area’s homeless population, men and women who are in their current situations because they can no longer maintain affordable housing because of the city’s high cost of living, yet lack of gainful employment.  Operation Nourishment is made possible by Popeye’s, Bar 7 Lounge, Carolina Kitchen, FUZE, Papa John's, Tru Orleans Restaurant and Vita Coco.  

Lewis is working to positively change the community where he grew up.   As an ex-offender counselor, outreach worker and advocate for children with incarcerated parents, he was recently nominated for the “Best Community Leader” Steve Harvey “Hoodie Award” and will travel to Las Vegas in August to represent his city at the show.  Lewis is a co-founder of Sons of Life, an outreach organization that provides social and organizational programming to children with incarcerated parents.  Sons of Life is committed to helping inmates to stay connected with their families.

The Board Administration is a Washington based entertainment company founded by Le’Greg Harrison and international recording artist, Wale. Over the years, The Board Administration has played an active part in community enhancement by hosting community events and speaking with at risk children.
