Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche to confer Healing Buddha Empowerment

July 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Thubten Lekshey Ling Nyingma Buddhist Centre, Bangalore (http://www.lekshey.org) announced today that Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche, a distinguished master of Nyingma Tradition of Buddhism and one of the senior abbots of Namdroling Monastery, will be conferring Healing Buddha (Medicine Buddha) empowerment in Bangalore. Rinpoche will also be teaching the meditation practice of Healing Buddha. Upon receiving the empowerment and teaching, the aspirants can practice this meditation with the support of visualization and mantra to heal physical, emotional and mental imbalances.

This practice is based on Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. Healing Buddha or Medicine Buddha is known in Sanskrit as Buddha Bhaishajyaguru. This Buddha is the healing aspect of our primordially pure awareness. In the tantric practice of Medicine Buddha, we attune into this healing aspect of our own primordial nature and use its innate potential to cure all diseases of body and mind. Anyone who receives the necessary empowerment and engages in practice with single-pointed mind can attune into this healing energy. This is particularly effective for physical, emotional and mental diseases arising due to imbalance of the elements. Medicine Buddha is also pivotal to medical tantras that come in association with traditional medical systems of Tibet and ancient India.

This empowerment is recommended for anyone who has an interest in Vajrayana Buddhism and willing to accept blessings from a master. Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche is the senior most Khenpo (Abbot) in the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism outside of Tibet. He was born in Tibet and studied under various masters like His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche and His Holiness Penor Rinpoche. In 1968, His Holiness Penor Rinpoche invited him to Bylakkupe in Mysore to establish the Ngagyur Nyingma University, the largest centre of philosophical education for the ancient school of Tibetan Buddhism. Most of the masters of Nyingma Buddhism in the new generation were trained under his guidance.

The program will be conducted at Thubten Lekshey Ling. The new meditation and teaching hall of Thubten Lekshey Ling was recently opened near MG Road, Bangalore.
