July 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Black American, Afro Caribbean, and African women around the world are turning towards methods, advice, and hair products to help them take care of their hair naturally. Now, those that use the ipad, ipod touch, or iphone, can get information while on the go.  Originally published in print in 2007, the book Twelve Steps For Growing Black Hair is now available in the iTunes iBookstore.

Twelve Steps For Growing Black Hair presents a natural method for growing healthy Black American, Afro Caribbean, and African Hair. In this book author Ololade Franklin details the twelve steps that have helped her to grow longer, healthier hair naturally, without relaxers. This book discusses how to wash, condition, and style natural Black hair to prevent breakage and encourage growth. Other topics discussed in the book are hair care tools, tips for choosing hair care products and pressing (chemical-free straightening with a hot comb).

In the introduction author Ololade Franklin states “After working with my hair for several years I realized that I had to change the way I took care of my hair if I wanted it to grow and stay long. I had to change the way I washed it, conditioned it, styled it, and wore it.  I had to change the way I handled it.  And I had to change the products I used.  When I made these changes, and stuck with them, then my hair grew, and I knew how to keep it growing.  This book takes a twelve step approach to help you identify the steps you need to take to grow your hair long, and to keep it that way.”

The book Twelve Steps for Growing Black Hair is available in electronic format through the iBookstore on iTunes, and in printed format through Amazon.com and Lulu.com.
