July 5, 2011 - PRLog -- In an effort to educate and arm the public in the fight against some of the most devastating diseases plaguing society today, The Fortanasce Neurology Center is presenting a 12-part lecture series,  “A Wealth of Health for the Mind, Body and Soul,” exploring methods to stop Alzheimer’s in its tracks.  Vincent M. Fortanasce, M.D., a physician, professor, best-selling author and former Olympian who has dedicated his life to putting an end to Alzheimer’s, will share the tenets of his proprietary D.E.A.R. method — a science-proven approach that helps prevent or delay the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.  The most eminent medical doctors from the likes of Yale, Princeton, the Mayo Clinic and Stanford University will join him in the series and will speak extensively on such subjects as treating memory loss, joint and spine problems, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, preventing chronic pain and the latest advancements in treating cancer.

Formerly the chief neurological consultant for 20 years at USC and St. Vincent’s Spine Center and the director of rehabilitation at Methodist Hospital for 27 years, Dr. Fortanasce is renowned for treating numerous professional and Olympic athletes for spinal pain and neuromuscular injuries.  His firsthand experience with Alzheimer’s disease (his father succumbed to it and his mother is being treated for it) resulted in his newest book, “The Anti-Alzheimer’s Prescription.” Another book, “Relieving Neck and Back Pain” will be out Sept. 11.
